Tortuga stitch earrings. Tortuga is the island off of the northern coast of Ayiti! It's a part of Ayiti and has quite the history. It's called Tortuga because of the turtle shape of the island. This is a turtle design. Turtles are sacred keepers of time, with 13 geometric shapes on their shells, representing the original 13 month cycle. These earrings have 13 shapes within the turtle shell.
